Curriculum

Kearsley Academy aims to provide a curriculum that boosts aspirations and prepares our students for a life in 21st Century Britain.

Our aims are that:

  • All students have access to a broad, balanced and coherent curriculum that supports learning
  • A strong core curriculum ensures that basic skills are embedded so that students are able to access the wider curriculum
  • An extended curriculum ensures all students have access to catch-up, extension and enrichment
  • The curriculum is personalised and inclusive and meets the needs of individual students at every Key Stage

In Years 7 and 8 all students study English, Maths, Science, MFL, History, Art, Computer Science, Music, Drama and PE.

In Year 9 students start their journey on GCSEs all students study English, Maths, Science, MFL, and History. Students then can choose from the following options: Computer Science, Art, Music, Performing Arts, Sport.

In Years 10 and 11 all students study English, Maths and Science plus a combination of other subjects dependant upon the pathway which they have taken.
