Learning Walls - the "third" teacher!

We have been working with student council regarding learning environments at Kearsley Academy.

The learning walls within classrooms are encouraging students to be interactive and to invite connections with current learning.

Student feedback said that learning walls needed to be "engaging, bright and useful", when discussing 'useful', students wanted access to another way of learning, such as practice questions, glossaries, success rubrics and support materials.

The "third teacher" aims to support students in their curiousity by providing additional learning materials and thought provoking challenges.

We look forward to sharing some of our learning wall designs with you!

"The environment is the most visible aspect of the work done in the schools by all the protagonists. It conveys the message that this is a place where adults have thought about the quality and instructive power of space". Lella Gandini

"Every person needs a place that is furnished with hope". Maya Angelou
