Learning Attitudes

Having the correct attitude to learning can make all the difference...

As an Academy we want to encourage our students to develop skills that will enable them to become effective lifelong learners. We aim to encourage our students to foster the learning attitudes that centre on what we call The 4 Rs so that students become:

  • Responsible
  • Resourceful
  • Reflective
  • Resilient

Focus for Summer Term 2013 - Resilient Learning.

The focus for the Summer Term is the learning attitude of being RESILIENT, which means:

  • Being ready, willing and able to engage in learning.
  • Having the ability to find the inner strength to 'bounce back' from a set-back or challenge.
  • Being positive and showing self belief in your ability to learn.
  • Using strategies to help yourself learn and embrace challenge.

Rewards for Positive Learning Attitudes

Throughout each half term, students will be recognised for displaying positive learning attitudes through our whole school rewards system of VIVOS. Students will collect VIVOs (or points) from any member of staff if they successfully display characteristics of any if the 4Rs.
